Sold!

Since my epiphany last weekend, I have painted (at least a little) everyday, I've started doing morning pages again - (and actually enjoying it... hold the presses!), I finished reading Art&Fear and this afternoon I sold a painting :-)
I think I just might start believing this woo-woo stuff about flow and the universe smiling down on you when you start to make some moves yourself.
The painting is going to one of my former Artists Way coaches who lives in a beautiful home by the Yadkin River. I'm chuffed because Janet is an artist herself, a writer and a poet, and from what I have seen of her home, she has an eye for interesting and ... hmmm, I can't seem to find the word, but when you look around her home, nothing looks as if it was bought just because it was on sale, or because it matched the curtains or because it's the latest fad. Her house is uncluttered and tasteful but also warm in the way of history and memory and home. Her husband contacted me last week about buying a painting as a birthday gift for her and they came over this afternoon to look at my small (but growing!) collection. She picked the birds and boats.
I did this painting two years ago, and I was just looking at it the other day thinking how much my style has changed since then.

Although, there are still the birds...
And the boats...
And the undefined horizon...
So change, but no change :-)
