A Perfect New York Day. Part One.

Wednesday was my perfect New York City day.
Here is what made it so...

After four days of a record breaking spring heatwave, we woke to cool air coming in the window and people on the street in jeans and jackets.
Ah, sweet relief.

We had breakfast in our old Upper West Side stomping grounds and then enjoyed a walk across Central Park to the Museum of the City of New York which has been on my list since our first visit.

After sending Kelly off to a Broadway matinee, I spent the afternoon at MoMA drinking in some of my favourite paintings...

Paul Gauguin's "Still Life with Three Puppies"

Henri Matisse's "Goldfish and Palette"

"The Bathroom" by Pierre Bonnard

And was introduced to the work of Leon Ferrari whose script like doodles I found fascinating...

A wonderful day, but my favourite bit was still to come...
